Prior to founding Synergy Performance Health in 2004,Mr. Rappaport spent six years as the managing partner of Rappaport Venture Partners, ,LLC (“RVP”) an early–stage venture capital and private equity firm focused on enabling technologies for the communications, software and bio-medical space. The firm has been able to provide its Limited Partners returns in the top 25% of the industry since its inception. He was responsible for sourcing and structuring the investments in the firm’s thirteen portfolio companies and often times took an active operating role to assist management with the early phases of corporate growth and structure. RVP was responsible for sourcing over $200M in capital for its portfolio companies in addition to its own invested capital.

Prior to RVP, Mr. Rappaport was the President and CEO of Professional Orthopedic and Sports Care (“POSC”) a network of outpatient physical and occupational therapy centers that he grew from inception to over $15M in revenue with 14 locations and operating margins in excess of 30%. In 1998, Mr. Rappaport sold the company to Nova Care and entered into a five year non-compete.

Before founding POSC, Mr. Rappaport served as an independent consultant to the film and television industry, providing on-set physical therapy and related services to actors and stuntmen in both feature films and television. His credits include; American Gladiators, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Last Boy Scout and Dinosaurs among others.

Howard began his career as an athletic trainer and rehabilitation specialist for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Rams. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Virtual Trak, ,and Co-Net communications and the non –profit Pilgrimage House and is active in the Early Stage Venture Capital Association and Tech Coast Angels. He obtained a bachelor of science from the University of Southern California in 1989 and completed the UCLA Executive Health Care Administrator’s extension program in 1998.
